Judgement before spend
The most expensive decisions get made before anyone writes code — what to build, what to leave out, and whether the thing is worth building at all. That is where we are most useful.

Services
Hype is not an agency you hand a specification to. We have founded companies, sold them, and spent years advising founders through the same decisions you are facing now. That is the part most teams need before they need developers.

The most expensive decisions get made before anyone writes code — what to build, what to leave out, and whether the thing is worth building at all. That is where we are most useful.
SR&ED and IRAP planned into the build rather than discovered at year end, so a meaningful share of the work can be funded without giving up equity.
An architecture, roadmap and technical story that survive diligence — and a founder who can defend all three in the room.
Built for the business you are trying to become, not the newest thing on the conference circuit. Most technical debt is a decision someone made in month two.
When to hire, who to hire first, and what to keep outsourced. Hiring an engineering team too early has killed more companies than hiring one too late.
We are not strategists who hand over a deck. We build the product, and we like building — it is simply not the whole offer.

Why this isn't a dev shop
A development agency executes what you bring them. That is a real service, and when you know exactly what you need it is often the right one.
The harder question is whether the thing is worth building — whether the roadmap survives contact with customers, whether the architecture holds when the business changes, whether the money is there to finish. Those are founder's questions, and we answer them the way people who have had to answer them for themselves do.
We have started companies, run them, and sold them. We have advised many more. That is the difference between a vendor and a partner, and it is the whole reason this page is not a list of technologies.
Who we work best with
Our best partnerships start with someone who cares deeply about a problem and already understands the people who have it. Technology makes that better. It does not create it.
An operating business with revenue, coming to us to build the technology layer on top of something that already works.
An audience, membership or following you have earned, and a clear sense of what would serve them better.
You know the buyers, hold the contracts, or own the channel. The product needs building; the route to market already exists.
You understand a market's problem because you have worked inside it. Sometimes that is worth more than a customer list.
Who this isn't for
It is the honest limit of what we do, and we would rather say it here than three months into a project.
If you need someone to find your customers, run your marketing, or generate demand from a standing start, we are the wrong partner — and we will tell you so on the first call rather than take the work. Technology does not solve that problem. A well-built product with nobody waiting for it is still a product with nobody waiting for it.
Bring us an audience you understand and a problem you care about, and we will do the best work of our careers on it.
How we engage
We act as your technology leadership — CTO, interim lead, or the person your team calls before making an expensive decision. Ongoing, and usually the arrangement that produces the most value per dollar.
A defined build with a defined outcome. Straightforward, commercial, and the right shape when you know what you need and need it done properly.
For a small number of companies we would rather take equity and stay for the long run. It is the arrangement that makes years of leadership possible instead of a hand-off.
Funding
Development that resolves genuine technical uncertainty often qualifies for SR&ED or IRAP support. We plan for that while the work is being scoped, not after it ships.
If you have an audience and a problem worth solving, we would like to hear about it. If we are not the right fit, we will say that too.
